New HR 676 Online Resource Center
I have exciting news to share with you-- H.R. 676, my bill for universal, single-payer health care, has a new home on the web! Your Friend,
www.johnconyers.com/healthcare
This new page on my website has background on our health care crisis, details on how H.R. 676 will fix it, and ways to get involved in the fight for universal health care. Please visit the new site and take a look around.
The need for high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans has never been more pressing. Every week, new articles and academic studies show the rising costs and falling quality of care. But for millions of Americans, the case is not made for universal health care in their newspapers or email inboxes. The need to change our broken system is apparent in their soaring medical bills, limited choice of doctors, hours dealing with red tape for simple care, and fear that one more trip to the emergency room will send them into bankruptcy.
My new health care page will be a place for the millions of Americans to share their health care horror stories, become better informed about the comprehensive change my single-payer plan has to offer, and sign on to be a citizen co-sponsor of H.R. 676. I hope you'll visit the new site and spread the word to your family and friends.
www.johnconyers.com/healthcare
Together, we will fix our broken health care system.
Thank you for your continued commitment to a better--and healthier--democracy,
John Conyers, Jr.

Single payer healthcare HR 676
Thank You!
This is huge and wonderful. How can we help ?
Finally, we can join the civilized nations of the world, and take care of our citizens.
Thank You !
Congressman,
HR 676 deserves it's spotlight.
And like anything placed in the spotlight, it shall be seen.
As long as it is given it's spotlight.
However, you have left many important things in the shadows...
Mr Turley says it all...
What's the difference between a CON man and a Statesman?
I tell ya, it ain't lipstick or a a pig... But instead, a spine!
So, the President can commit WAR CRIMES with impunity?
... As long as he has Nancy and John cowered in the corner?
... As long as the Democrats refuse to become the Statesmen and women they claim to be?
... As long as ineffectual keep getting elected to fill these High Ranks?
... As long as it is only George W. Bush?
What is it John?
IS THE PRESIDENT, ANY PRESIDENT OF THE USA, ALLOWED TO BE ABOVE THE LAW?
... or is it just George W. Bush?
... When the President does it, that means it's not illegal?
It's Thanksgiving
and we are still murdering the indians!
You would think that in the year 2008, we should be a bit more civilized!
WAR
What is it good for?
Looks like a bunch of the folks in the administration should be eating CROW for the predicament they have brought upon our nation!
Most folks out here can only afford hotdogs on turkey day!
A whole bunch don't even have a home to celebrate in!
How about our kids in the foreign "Theaters" Well they are at least getting Turkey MRE's
We certainly have a lot to be thankful for!
Now we have "Cheap Gas " again, All filled up ,and no place to go!.
We don't have any problems here in America, We just have a shitload of Piss Poor Leaders
Time for change !!!
You God Damned Right!!!!!
Enjoy your well earned OPULENCE John, don't worry about all those Po Folks working for minimum wage with no health care.
Don't worry about the Angola three, they can write a book and make millions.
Don't worry about those Bad Guys in Guantanamo. They've only been there for SIX years.
Don't worry about Leonard Pelletier, he's only been in prison for about thirty years, wrongly convicted ,mind you.
And really don't worry about all of your friends who are out there taking advantage of us uneducated working class peons.
If you really cared about America And Americans ,you would get your shit together and IMPEACH those miscreants in the Administration ,that are responsible for this wonderful situation.
Happy Thanksgiving!
My Ass!!!

Keystone Kongress -- My Friends I Have Decided The Field Goal Is THATAWAY!
Yes, we have heard the "my friend's" line before in letters to your former fans, John. And Tecumseh was right wasn't he?
I know the longknives. They are not to be trusted. They call you
friend, friend, they take you by the hand and call you 'brother' and
then they stab you in the back. -- The Previous Americans
So let's talk about Rush Limbaugh instead.
I think he misunderstood what I meant by "politically correct". Now everyone misunderstands it.
Darn the luck. I had no advertisers so that one just kinda got away from me.
UNTIL NOW! I have advertisers (listed at the bottom).
See what you think. The "political correct" analysis used to be a very simple logical analysis, something like this.
What's the best match with "wacko peacenik".
a) Jesus
b) Dick Cheney
c) George Bush
See?
It's so simple it knocked him completely off his oxycontin. And we could have done it the other way too!
TWO vays to do the same thing redundantly,

eh, eh, eh.
What's the best match with "Jesus".
a) wacko peacenik
b) Dick Cheney
c) George Bush
Try this one with the same three elements as above.
Hawk (a, b, or c)?
Dove (a, b, or c)?
Sheep (a, b, or c)?
Turdpolisher(a, b, or c)?
And so on.
VUN dear friends letters!
Of course! I vas getting to that.
TWO dear friends letters! Eh, eh, eh...
Today's Konstitution in Krisis was brought to you by the number two, and...
ExxonMobile ("Isn't 'anti-trust' going just a little bit overboard, Mr. Sherman?"),
The Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation ("There's no place like homeland... unless it's offshore"),
Archer Daniel Midland, Corp ("Put a piranha in your tank -- helping to improve the quality of feeder fish in Lake America"),
Cheveron ("We don't need no stinking indigenous people"),
and the letter...

Vladamir Putin ("You score the point for that one, Mr. Sarkozi.").
Thank you, but that doesn't mean we'll be borrowing more.
I appreciate the effort regarding healthcare, but I don't think this will have an appreciable affect on the credit markets, if that's what you had in mind.
In case you hadn't noticed, Americans are very aware of the preference you've shown toward investor class America, and we aren't in a hurry to rejoin your little game while knowing the deck is stacked against us.
Multi-billion dollar giveaway's to lending institutions, in an attempt at shoring up the credit market, means nothing to the millions of Americans with bad credit. After watching the manner in which well connected debtors are forgiven their trespasses, while average citizens are forclosed on in record numbers, even if our credit rating gets better we won't be too interested in borrowing because it leaves us vulnerable to the whims of people who can do whatever they want to us.
Realistically speaking, victim class citizens, the people you need to con into borrowing for your schemes to succeed, aren't interested in your product anymore.
Investor class America has been gladhanded so much money, our pursuit of happiness(which in America means financial freedom), will be seriously curtailed due to Congress's line in the sand regarding investor class vs victim class.
Every penny of the trillions in bailout money, will be paid by every citizen in America.
But a dwindling number of creditworthy Americans will benefit.
Thanks for the aspirins and band-aids Mr. Conyers, but the money I save on healthcare will be squirreled away, not used as a downpayment on a loan.
We're already on the hook for the trillions your giving to them now.
Pre-emptive defense is more than a military strategy, it's a way of life for the victim class.
If our children are to have any hope of happiness, we'll have to save every penny we can, and teach them how to be content with what they have.
I just wish the teacher who told me we were all equals was still alive. I'd probably have to pound him in the dirt for lying to generations of victim class Americans.
The Indians are getting restless again.
The news during the last couple of days has been dominated by a bunch of terrorist attacks in nuclear armed India.
Immediately, war of terror supporters were mentioning nuclear armed, terrorist filled, easily demonized Pakistan.
It could be domestic terrorism...it could be foreign terrorists...we don't know yet. What we do know is the situation could be used to terrorize Americans into believing that a war time transition, might not be such a good idea at the present time.
According to the warmongers, a seamless transition team able to hit the ground running, is needed. Unknown unknowns, such as itchy trigger fingers in Pakistan and India, weren't part of the briefing process for Obama, and could be an impediment to the required seamless transition.
Little Georgie has been bumbling around like a buffoon lately, kinda like the days immediately prior to 9/11. Suddenly, he transmogrified into the he-man, macho, commander in chief guy.
Congress gave him the power to declare martial law and suspend the results of presidential elections, until a safe transition could be made. He's proven that he has the audacity to do whatever the hell he wants.
It would be too bad if a bunch of restless Indians caused Obama to be the first Black President that never was.
Maybe...if he was being impeached...

If the House Judiciary Chairman insists on allowing Rove to have contempt for them, how can you do anything but side with Rove?!
Amazing.
Could there be anything more rotten than Rove's behavior?
Well, apparently so. It's a Representative that gives tacit approval, a sin of omission of such telling magnitude, that 40 years of Justice and Peace are invisible in the utter gloom of dark black clouds belching forth from our nation's honorable leaders.
Honorable Chairman, am I correct in my assessment? Only YOU apparently know what that nonsense you guys write and say means, so help me out here, would you?

For example, Blackwater is solvent. USA is not.
What does "preserve", mean, John?
Okay, so it's too late for that. Then what does "protect" mean?
Everyone: compare "signing statements" to Article 1, Section 7 (here's an excerpt).
Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated...
Dear Congress:
We've upped our standards, now up yours.
Keystone Kongress -- Greatest Generation Of Fools On The Hill
Keystone Kongress -- Greatest Generation Of Fools On The Hill
Can Bush pardon himself? That's really a simple ethical question, like forgiving yourself for burning down your neighbor's house. Oh, think nothing of it, right? But when it comes to points of law this suddenly becomes a tricky one.
What explicit constitutional principles apply, if any? No help there. What constitutional principles would apply in the abstract then?
1. First of all, using common sense, we might ask why was the President given power to pardon in the first place?
2. Second of all, what legislative authority does the President have other than the veto? And why the veto?
Clearly!!!! (I mene "clearly", no kaleidoscope required) the President was NOT intended to have much legislative authority at all. (Art 1, Sec 1 -- you can't miss it if you tried, and Art 1, Sec 7 explicitly defines the legitimate constitutional power of the President regarding legislation he takes issue with. Send it back to the House of origin with an explanation.)
Bush's signing statements are kind of like playing a game of chicken with Congress, and you know how that's going. But disregarding the lack of tools to work with as far as representation, we can still do the mental exercise so that at least We The People might earn a parchute whild Congress drives us of the cliff, whether or not that parachute is forthcoming.
Considering the above two questions (numbered 1 and 2 above) we naturally move our thinking toward the domain of the President's LEGITIMATE powers, which are above all, as command in chief of the military.
I mean to say, as giving advice and consent, or signing treaties, or giving a state of the union address, it's hard to imagine him needing to grant an official pardon to anyone, but in war? That's a whole nuther can of worms.
War is a kind of anarchy (maybe that's why the Bush family has had such an affinity for it -- war on drugs = CIA smuggling and Trading With The Enemy, which is a hobby that seems to have corrupted their blood, and then the war on terror which has similar troubling features such as the real identity of "Tim Osman"). During war things naturally get kind of wild.
In this context, you can see how folks might act out of necessity or passion at times, and how it might do more harm than good to hold them accountable for misdeeds that would otherwise not have happened. In other words punishment would accomplish nothing.
To pardon himself would simply be the most lawless of all his lawless acts so far.
At least that's where I end up after thinking about the Constitutional principles involved.
And boy howdy, this Congress that let him get away with it.... I'm telling you! If they aren't able to rein in the Executive AND themselves in the next decade they are quite possibly the MOST FOOLISH, THE STUPIDEST people to have ever inhabited this earth -- considering the stakes.

Hi Folks.
Still hanging in there. Hope things are going well for you all.
I Think you missed an opportunaty to make positive comment on the previous page. As important as proper health care is, it is kind of a no brainer. Wanna go without? Ok then, argument over. Mr Woodfox is the current public face of one of The United States two original sins.
1/ Slavery.
2/ Genocide.
The War on Terror incorperates elements of both of these and I believe it is intended to preserve these ... traditions ... for another generation. It would be better if this did not happen. It would be better if these problems were faced. It would be better if justification were demanded.
An insightful comment, on this blog, might be helpful.
I am asking what you think...

For the Chairmans Review.
My troubles with Department of Education are as before. So now I have sent to Senator Wyden and Representative Defazio the letter below. I print it here that you may be aware of conditions on the ground.
Really quite inconvenient for me.
=======================================================
That was August. This is December. I don't think they are going to answer. Unless you prod them.
Here is the deal:
Point #1 : Having been adjudicated "Disabled" by Administative Judge Margtreth Shellentrager after having gone thru the entire process to make sure there was no mistake, I am due by statute certian "extra" Rights. Among these is the right to assistance in applying for and receiving benifits from Federal entities such as the Department of Education.
The Department of Education policy of "Not Talking To Me" violates my statutory right to said assistance.
Point #2 : The Department of Education has a standard, completely non-special program that anyone the Department WILL TALK TO may freely elect to participate in. The program is called the INCOME CONTINGENT REPAYMENT PROGRAM. The intent of the program is to prevent poor people being abused by the Bueracracy. Participants in the Program :
1/ DO NOT PAY outstanding student loans UNLESS thier income is above the Federal poverty level.
And 2/ Should thier income remain below the poverty line for 25 years, THE LOAN IS FORGIVEN.
Point #3 : I thought that I was a participant in the Income Contingent Repayment Program. It is after all both my intent and my right and is the logical place for me. But last July Fourth I recieved a letter from DOE, the first I have ever recieved from DOE, informing me that TREASURY OFFSET, authorized by the 1996 Debt Collection Improvement Act, had been used to "Collect" my economic Stimulus Check and apply it against the balance outstanding. The letter detailed steps to be taken in case of disagreement. It turns out these steps have no effect whatsoever and serve as distraction only : There is no real communication with DOE, so therefore I am not able to inform them of the error.
This is not fair, nor is it all. For when my Social Security Disability Insurance Benifit rises above $750 In 2010, I will not be givin the money. It will be sent to the Department of Education instead, to be applied against the balance of this loan. This will be true again in 2011, 12, 13, 14, 15, and probably 2016. Untill DOE winds up getting 15%, I will not get a raise. Nor is this all, for DoE intends to keep collecting 15% for the rest of my life. Please note that this will not, ever, retire the $3,600 loan.
This contrasts sharply with what my legal obligations amount to : That I need not pay, and that the loan be forgiven in 2014, under the terms of the Income Contingent Repayment Program. I am being told in effect that My file has been in limbo for 19 years, and that consequently I must pay and pay and pay and pay and pay. And I am not being allowed to correct this.
I say in return that if mistakes were made, they were not made by me, for I have never been allowed the opportunaty. I do not intend to pay and pay and pay for the rest of my life. I do not intend to see my life made colder, nastier, more brutish and shorter just to keep a beauracrats desk clean. I intend to enjoy my rights under the law. After all, how big was that bailout?
I would find it very helpful, Sir, if you would knock on the door of the Department of Education and get it to open for me. It would be even more helpful, Sir, if you would take the time to inform DoE that it does indeed have an obligation to effectivly communicate with me. And if you have time to wedge a shoe between someones cheeks, I would appreciate that as well.
Thank you very much.

The People’s Response to the False Haitian ORIGIN of AIDS
Dear Dr. Worobey:
I have studied the ORIGIN of AIDS for fifteen years and find that all roads lead to the U.S. Special Virus program (1962 – 1978). What is your prior familiarity with this federal program?
This federal program is guided by a 1971 flowchart which over four million people now have. www.boydgraves.com/flowchart/ .
In light of the extensive U.S. documentation in support of the need to develop a “candidate virus”, it is preposterous for an article in the 21st Century to seek to blame Haitians or anyone else.
The United States developed the esp-1 virus (HIV/AIDS) in 1971. The 1971 electron microscope of the esp-1 virus is identical to the 1985 electron microscope of HIV/AIDS. The 1971 photo is here, Nature New Biology, Vol. 232, pp. 140 - 2, 1971. The 1985 electron photo of HIV/AIDS is here, Science, Vol. 227, pp. 173 – 7, January 1985.
According to the National Academy of Sciences, sheep, not monkeys, are the etiological animal model for HIV/AIDS. See, PROC NAS Vol. 83, pp. 4007 – 11, June 1986, PROC NAS Vol. 92, 3283 – 87, April 11, 1995.
Dr. Worobey, when did visna cross species so as to become the etiological agent of HIV/AIDS? Specifically, and reading from the 1971 progress report (of the development of AIDS), page 39 says, ‘visna had not YET been associated with human disease’.
At the July 18, 1983 AIDS Task Force Dr. Matthew Gonda announced that HIV/AIDS had evolved from visna. SO this issue begs the question, when did visna cross species between 1971 and 1983?
If visna had not been associated with human disease as late as 1971, then why do I have in my blood, sequences of visna from a 1932 strain, ks-1514?
If we review and investigate the U.S. Special Virus program, we will solve and end this thing we call HIV/AIDS. Once you read U.S. House Resolution 15090, particularly page 129, you will find the true heart, intent and desire of our government to make HIV/AIDS. Also google, “Better” Than the Bomb. O.K., while you are at it, go to www.uspto.gov and enter 5676977 or 4647773.
I hope you engage this process to rid the world of this ‘synthetic biological agent’ we call HIV/AIDS. This World AIDS Day you can make a difference by correcting your errant article and base it on the truth, the U.S. Special Virus program. Looking forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Boyd Ed Graves, J.D.

SYNTHETIC BIOLOGICAL AGENTS
There are two things about the biological agent field I would like to mention. One is the possibility of technological surprise. Molecular biology is a field that is advancing very rapidly and eminent biologists believe that within a period of 5 to 10 years it would be possible to produce a synthetic biological agent, an agent that does not naturally exist and for which no natural immunity could have been acquired.
MR. SIKES. Are we doing any work in that field?
DR. MACARTHUR. We are not.
MR. SIKES. Why not? Lack of money or lack of interest?
DR. MACARTHUR. Certainly not lack of interest.
MR. SIKES. Would you provide for our records information on what would be required, what the advantages of such a program would be, the time and the cost involved?
DR. MACARTHUR. We will be very happy to.
(The information follows:)
The dramatic progress being made in the field of molecular biology led us to investigate the relevance of this field of science to biological warfare. A small group of experts considered this matter and provided the following observations:
1. All biological agents up the the present time are representatives of naturally occurring disease, and are thus known by scientists throughout the world. They are easily available to qualified scientists for research, either for offensive or defensive purposes.
2. Within the next 5 to 10 years, it would probably be possible to make a new infective microorganism which could differ in certain important aspects from any known disease-causing organisms. Most important of these is that it might be refractory to the immunological and therapeutic processes upon which we depend to maintain our relative freedom from infectious disease.
3. A research program to explore the feasibility of this could be completed in approximately 5 years at a total cost of $10 million.
4. It would be very difficult to establish such a program. Molecular biology is a relatively new science. There are not many highly competent scientists in the field. Almost all are in university laboratories, and they are generally adequately supported from sources other than DOD. However, it was considered possible to initiate an adequate program through the National Academy of Sciences - National Research Council (NAS-NRC).
The matter was discussed with the NAS-NRC, and tentative plans were plans were made to initiate the program. However decreasing funds in CB, growing criticism of the CB program, and our reluctance to involve the NAS-NRC in such a controversial endeavor have led us to postpone it for the past 2 years.
It is a highly controversial issue and there are many who believe such research should not be undertaken lest it lead to yet another method of massive killing of large populations. On the other hand, without the sure scientific knowledge that such a weapon is possible, and an understanding of the ways it could be done, there is little that can be done to devise defensive measures. Should an enemy develop it, there is little doubt that this is an important area of potential military technological inferiority in which there is no adequate research program.
What the hay?
I don't know what to make of that Rainbow Sally but it is certianly interesting.

Thanks Tahoe.
It is nice that you are there for me. Thank you.
The Dept of Education Should be easily handled. But so long as they refuse to speak with me, I cannot tell them that they are wrong, and what is right.
I suppose that is why they refuse to speak with me.
Interestingly, note the next thread. the expeirience of Poverty in America.
Comments turned off on that page. Something poetic about that.
Off topic : It really is criminal that I don't have a camera. The weather has been fab, the view from the Bossharts' house is incredible. The "Sheep Ranch" golf course is just south, so the lawn seems to go on for a mile. Fivemile Point is "Right There". The other way is woods. Basicly, a 360 dergree view.
Jelosey, jelosey, jelosey, oh, jelosey.
But, then, considering, I kinda like the situation I am putting togeather in the cabin, 500 yards north of here. I will get over my Jelosey, and it won't take long.
Take care.

Hi, Frosty!

Franklin D. Roosevelt
Hello Frosted,
Good to see you still kickin'.
And yes, the "Poverty in America" thread being silenced is telling, if not poetic.
A closing thought.
I am going to lose the net again tomorrow. There is another thing to say. It goes like this :
Since the election I have been , ... pestered, I guess, by a particular tune in my head. I wonder if others have felt the same effect.
The tune that keeps popping into my mind is "Hooray for the Red, White and Blue."
Not the kazoo version, with which we are all well aquainted.
Not the Elmer Fudd acapella version, known at least as well.
Not even the John Phillips Susa version with the bearskin hat, frogged cutawaycoat, spats and silverplate baton.
I am talking the full on New York Symphony version with the Saluting Battery in with the Kettledrums. Always a good thing to have light artillery in the base section.
With such messages, floating up from the unconscious, patience is required. It seems to me the idea is, there is a time and a place for everything. In addition, there is an element of "two birds, one stone." in that some, it seems many, on the extreme right are there because they like the show. Consider the merit of the idea that Americans are better simply because they are Americans. Completely vapid, right? Yet that is the essence of Jingoism. Our guys, rah rah rah! That is the shoe that complete fools with flags round thier heads walk thier mile in. Not because it makes any sense, but because they love it. It feels good, y'see, to proclaim oneself the hero.
Two can play at that game. And there has never been a better opportunaty to steal that particular thunder. Consider : There Has NEVER been a Non-White male Persident of this Country before. This an opportunaty to celebrate as a presidential inaguration has NEVER been celebrated before. And put on a good show that the most foolish of us will thouroughly enjoy. In order to cultivate the favor of these fools. So they will vote for the folks they like best (now).
Objection must account for 3 factors.
1/ This is the first time there has been a non-white President ; What are you bitching about? Are you some kind of dissapointed racist?
2/ We got two unneccesary wars going on. Did you want three?
3/ Does winning make republicans better Americans than it makes Democrats? How's that?
Tough questions. Flips current situation on head. Seems to be the objective. Therefore I suggest pulling out all stops. 76 trombones in the big parade. Each branch of the military competeing with the others marching bands. Even a balloon race (contradiction in terms) seeing as the airspace is closed.
I am saying use Jingoism to "get up in thier faces" until someone says something that sounds like sour grapes...then make them all pay for that one dumb remark. Collective puinishment intended to make it embarressing to snicker at (puffed-up) democratic pride.
The reason the republicans are thought by some to be morally supirior is, they pretend to be. People that stupid are easily confused, but not if the attempt is not made.
Just a thought.

And, then, as if that weren't enough, I picked
up a Chicago Tribune this afternoon and just about fell over -- there was a full-page (advertisement*) entitled:
Are you a Natural Born Citizen of the U.S.?
Are you legally eligible to hold the Officei of President?
Here is the letter from the website* to Obama: An Open Letter to Barack Obama:
To see this letter put me in a state of shock. You have to see it to believe it!
"Evil" has never left us and will not unless addressed! And just where do you think all this "evil" emanates from -- REALLY?
*(scroll down a couple of notches)
Note: I looked for the Advertisement in the Chicago Tribune online, but couldn't find it, so it comes directly from the site listed at the bottom of the letter. Also Note that McCain was born in the Panama Canal.

Hi tahoebasha1
Sig on certified copy.
Angle shot showing raised watermark.

More here.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html
Obama's campaign released the info in June or thereabouts when the rumors first started up. Then there were questions about the watermark and validity. The state department verified it but Hawaii won't and shouldn't have to release the original.

Thank you so much for that, Rainbow Sally!
Personally, I knew there was no validity to it* -- that's why I was so astounded to see such tripe printed. But, then, again, I guess I shouldn't be astounded either. The unfortunate part is that a lot of people will not know that it's not the truth!
T'would be nice if you would take the information you have and shove it to Mr. Schultz, on his website, at www.WeThePeopleFoundation.org or info@GiveMeLiberty.org.
Thanks again for info.

This is such disgusting stuff! I don't mean Obama's B.C. is disgusting -- of course not, I meant that the whole issue was/is totally disgusting -- hope that was understood!

Obama even voted to allow expired "Natural born citizenship" laws to be extended for Mr. McCain...
... Why must they kick the president elect in the nuts when he was gracious enough to look the other way? Oh silly me, that's how the "ESTABLISHMENT" rolls, Conservative and Libertarians act rough because the demure Dems have a calcium deficiency.
Rovian tactics and the people who
implement them aren't going away. You know, when evil ways continue on with no consequence, they just continue doing evil -- nothing to stand in their way. N'est que c'est pas, Max1?

tahoe,
I asked the very same question months ago...
If Obama supports the Constitution, why does he not pursue the criminals who assaulted the darn thing? Should he do nothing, does that then make Obama guilty by proxy?
CAN ANY PRESIDENT OF THE USA REFUSE TO SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE USA IN FAVOR OF BEING ABOVE THE RULE OF LAW?
Hah!
I would say the path is certainly clear for ANY President of the USA to refuse to support and defend the Constitution of the USA in favor of being above the rule of law!
This is a case of truth is stranger than fiction. How can it be fathomable that the worst international criminals on the face of this earth will walk away, leaving the hideous mess behind them and reap all the benefits of their tenure. I can't get my mind adjusted to this -- it haunts me.

This is pretty advanced stuff so it's good that we can't comment in you latest feat of feel-good.

2. The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State. If we are truly playing Republican rules, that's three strikes. Dems are out.
Why Dems?
You tell me John. Who is currently the majority in Congress? And in a couple of months who will be flat OUT of lame excuses?
Who LET Bush get away with this stuff despite the fact that ANY democrate at ANY time could have made the unarguable point, all others being bound by their oaths of office to agree.
Okay, complain that the media hasn't given you a fair break. You can't make that same complaint about the House Record.
And if you think you deseve more than 3 strikes, what makes you think you deserve more grace than you can give.
She's right you know.

Keystone Kongress --Terrorists Strike Mumbai & CIA Fingerprints?
I'm wondering what happened to the 20,000 missing prisoners the CIA grabbed.
Were they used in mind-control experiments like the "manchurian candidate" programs of the past?
Here's what got be thinking about this. http://pr.thinkprogress.org/
Now before everyone dismisses this out of hand, recall that
1. The war on drugs was concurrent with CIA drug smuggling. (Are the CIA really "our guys"?)
2. We also know that the war on terror is being waged by the same cadre of people. (modus match?)
3. With all this government secrecy it's impossible to pin this on the CIA but it's also impossible to excuse them due to past documented excesses, the most recent being the Abu Ghraib and rape-torture revelations.
4. Twenty thousand prisoners is a lot of people to lose (and abuse).
5. We know that the current Nazi regime in the whitehouse and their CIA
goons have been working on creating monsters through techniques of
horrendous humiliation and torture in the past.
And this last point can be verified here (skip down to "Project_ARTICHOKE" if you think you don't have time to look at all the context first.).
<snip>
[Until now? Where are the 20,000 missing prisoners? What makes us think they were treated BETTER than those at abu ghraib? What is the character of these Nazi imported OSS/CIA creeps if they can even do this to Americans?? -rs]
<snip>
-------------
Wait. There's another CIA operation that may even be more to the point.
See that bottom line there? That's NO LONGER CLASSIFIED! (Why did Bush feverishly reclassify so many docs that had already been declassified? Startin' to add up?)
Dunno about anyone else but I'm beginning to wonder if there's any difference between the KGB/FSB, the CIA, the Mossad, or any of the other government sanctioned mobsters. What if not only the Dem/Rep debates were scripted but even the international conflicts were? This could explain quite a few anomalies, no? Netanyahu warned to stay inside the day of the London bombings, unusual amount of airline stock puts around 9/11, Pentagon hit on only buttressed side (which had been under construction for 16 years and nearly completed), and so forth.
Help me wonder about this.
Who really hates our freedoms? What
IS personal responsibility (what trickled down and what trickled up)?
And when's the last time Congress ever declared one of their idiotic wars. http://usconstitution.net/const.html#A1Sec8

Bush's Greatest Regret (Charles Gibson Interview On ABC)
-- or --
OH! I SEE WHAT YOU'RE SAYIN'.
Let it not be said that Slick Willy had anything on Baby Bush.
ABC's Charles Gibson asked if Bush had a do over what would it be. Bush said his greatest regret was the intelligence failure about WMD.
My previous version of this was done from memory. Here's the actual transcript right around the part I was bringing out.
http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=6356046

Hard to speculate on whether or not he'd have attacked if he KNEW Hussein hadn't had WMD? No it's not at all hard to speculate (see downing street memo link at the bottom of this post).
<God, come in God... CIA, anybody... Gotta help me out, buddy. Anybody there?>
And today's
Placing second in the race to the bottom is runner up, Charles Gibson.
Gibson did not ask Bush if he planned to pardon himself for war crimes. Bush is a pretty compassionate guy though, so we can probably expect "sympathy and understanding" from him for him, but I think we should also insist on "therapy" per Cheney's prescription for terrorists held unconstitutionally at Guantanamo. (See Art1, Sec8 find "Captures")
And placing DEAD LAST is the Keystone Kongress. (See Art1, Sec8 find "Captures")

What I don't get is while you're still on watch, you refuse to initiate an Impeachment investigation. The policy of torture DID NOT make us a safer Nation from the threat of terrorists, but instead it has energised that threat, making us LESS SAFE, NO?

Our global aggressions, military and other, have caused us to be the most hated country in the world. And, of course, there will be those who will want to pay us back in some way for all the death and destruction we have caused innocents to suffer.

Military Prosecutor Breaks His Silence
Keystone Kongress -- Everybody! Off The Cliff NOW!
So...
Restructure the auto industry, eh? And it so happens that the workers will be competing with labor in which states?
What a coincidence.
Meanwhile the Japanese auto manufacturers in those states have fewer benefits than non-union workers in Japan?
Well, if that don't beat all.
But selling American workers to the lowest bidder isn't what We give Kongress a Cerebral Kotex Award for today. It's for their idea of hip technology. It's for their idea of "solutions to business problems". It's for their notion of "general welfare" (see Preamble, US Const.) And it's for their utter unworthiness to represent a paper map, much less a real nation.
Find the best match for "border".
a) Outer limit of a nation.
b) Inner limits of a nation.
See what I mean?
Now about this brilliant plan to bail out the auto industry. You make them do WHAT???!!!
1. Electric cars?
Don't those need copper and/or aluminum to produce? Compare feasibility to iron and zinc that's now used -- forget the 100 years of attempts to make one perfect car, just the problem of available materials will be a future bottleneck.
Don't those need nuclear or even fossil fuels to produce the electricity? No wonder Kongress' corporate contributors are in love with it. (Adam Smith Wealth Of Nations - or just find "as ignorant of the world as of the subject")
Is that technology going to have a seemless overlap with existing technology?
Duh. If Kongress never penned a law themselves, what makes us think they ever wrote a program for a computer? Even in BASIC. So how would they understand "reusability" if they don't understand libraries or subprograms?
By all appearances, they don't even understand the importance READABLE CODE!
2. Hybrids?
WHAT ABOUT FLEX, you nincompoops?
Why the suddens change of tack?
Right. Burn the bridge down, we will never have to go back, is that what you're thinking? WHAT A BUNCH OF MORE-ONS!
Remember that joke about the big and little morons? You guys are the big ones.
On that second point, I think I can guess why flex is on the chopping block, as evidenced by it's conspicous absense from the discussion. (Sorry if the news I got was inaccurate, but I'd rather premptively attack you assholes in error than take a chance that whatever you have is contagious.)
Because when it becomes apparent that hemp farms or even switchgrass fields could produce methanol for automobile fuel (by pyrolysis in something as simple as a moonshine still -- with only 5% of the output needed to fuel the still), well it becomes economically unfeasible somehow.
Can't build build the bridge to the 21st Century because we ran out of inches. Let's build one to Mars instead. We do have plenty of "red tape".
When it becomes obvious that even electricity could be produced for a fraction of the money it would take to do the same with solar cells AND can be done practcially anywhere, AND which is carbon neutral AND which would create jobs outside the cities AND which would decentralize energy production AND is green-green-green... well, that's not what I really wanted to talk about either. (Well, it's only part of it, anyway.)
What I really want to talk about is how embarrassingly incompetent our "leaders" are.
So now that big business has taken our government hostage, we'd better do what they say or they'll go away??
Halelujah!! Maybe THEN this would be the land of opportunity instead of just the land of opportunism. 'Course this would take a bit of "protectionism", aka "general welfare" to give the gold fish a fighting chance in the piranha tank, but that's perfectly Constitutional. (Art1, Sec 8 you BLIND FOOLS!)
And Bush has taken the entire military (and the militias/National Guard) hostage in Iraq?
STAY THE COURSE YOU NITWITS! You hung the wrong guy, but then what the heck. Close counts in handgrenades if not in Abu Grenaibs, eh? Want me to post the rape photos, Ms. Boxer? Then YOU do it! Max, turn off your family filter and search images for "Iraq rape torture". They are now only on the porn sites, apparently. Be respectful of the victims.. I claim sura 2:62, you muslims. And there are others.
If we need to tell our leaders what to do, who the hell needs 'em? Is anarchy better than mismanagement of this Republic?
THAT'S WHAT I GUESS I WANT TO TALK ABOUT!!
Get with the program, you jerks!
http://usconstitution.net/const.html
The founding fathers signed it.
We endorsed it.
It's the ONLY enforcible agreement between all people in this country, especially our alleged Representatives who took an OATH to uphold it.
It's what you have guys over in Iraq preserving, protecting and defending (without a formal declaration of war???)
AND IT'S NOW AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH !
People, Article 6 is the official endless loop, and Kongress is nowhere to be found in it, around it, or even in the same galaxy with it.
Look. If the management in our government does a bad job what do we do? We get rid of them. Not by "planting" them, no, that's ignorant AND it's unnecessary. A mere flick of the finger (or just let Diebold to it's thing) in the voting booth and it will FUMIGATE those in The People's House who do not deserve to be there.
And I do hope the Greens are ready to catch the pass.
So if replacing bad managers is how to have a just government derived from the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, then why not do the same to the CEO's who have demolished their industry -- and have thus threatened our national security, our common defense, if not our general welfare?
Congress: Replace those guys who come to you for handouts. Then give them the new guys the handout. duh?
So... How shall I put this politely?

I Hope Congress Doesn't See This
Want to know how mad I am at these people that call themselves "legislators" and "representatives"?
I'll tell you how mad I am. I hope they don't see this.
I got in my email tonight an offer and directions on how to invest in derivatives.
They call it a "corporate perk" that now anybody can enjoy. They say it "can't be advertised publicly". And of all the insane things, they even mention Citigroup as a source offering these programs (though there are also others).
The variation I saw (there must be others as well) was called the 424 dividend boost program. They claimed 1,000% to 2,000% the return of "normal stocks".
Am I right? (What else could it be.)
Great job our Representatives are doing, isn't it?
Markey? Kaptur? DeFazio? Are you ready?
Dorgan? Are you ready? (I don't know any of the others in the Senate. My gig is The Peoples' House.)
And if nobody ever sees this, thank John Conyers above all.
Why John? I fault him for allowng the "I" word to be off the table and for the truth to become illegal in "The People's House". And what a great fault that is.
So let the chips fly where they may.
